Kiko Kostadinov took over as the creative director for Asics’ SportStyle line several years ago, but has remained relatively quiet in 2023. This week, the Bulgarian designer showed off some new shoes, coming later this year.

Kiko Kostadinov first partnered with Asics in 2018, teaming up to create a number of signature silhouette that borrowed heavily from the Japanese brand’s extensive archives of running footwear. Since then, Kiko has ascended to the position of creative director for the SportStyle category, which blends their performance footwear with lifestyle purposes. While the two have continued to release collaborative projects, the main focus has been on in-line product that modified existing silhouettes, like the popular UB1-S GEL-Kayano 14 from 2020. This week, Kostadinov shared a first look at some upcoming releases for the SportStyle line, which use the recently-revived GT-2160 and the GEL-Kayano 20 as their base models. The former features a new colorway in varying shades of green, while the latter sports a simple mix of grey tones with bright blue accents.

Asics’ next SportStyle releases from the mind of Kiko Kostadinov have not been announced for release, though they are expected to drop sometime during the Fall 2023 season. Featuring the GEL-Kayano 20 and the GT-2160, pairs will likely be available from both the brand’s website and select retailers.
