Junya Watanabe's ASH Pearl Sneaker Is Embraced by Glistening Jewelry

Japanese designer Junya Watanabe is strongly tied to the international punk scene, often inspired by glam rock styles that put an eccentric twist on the modern-day wardrobe. From studs to chains, Watanabe has become synonymous with outlandish creations that garner a second look. While previously collaborating with New Balance and London's Stepney Workers Club, the imprint now debuts its latest in-house footwear offering. The ASH Pearl Sneaker is an ideal representation of Watanabe's design codes and reflects his contemporary outlook geared toward the new generation. The model is embraced by a black leather base featuring linear mesh underlays and 3M detailing on the tongue tags and laces. The sneaker is drenched in synthetic pearls and gold chains, dangling across the uppers and over the chunky white midsoles for an elegant look.
