The New Balance 2010 is entering its second stretch through autumn and winter with an all-new material composition, the 99X-inspired model here surfacing with waterproof GORE-TEX enhancements for Fall/Winter 2026. And if this first colorway is any indicator, the new build isn’t arriving in subtle fashion.
Reading as a damn near perfect option for traffic flaggers, the shoe visually and physically takes after reflective safety vests. The mesh foundation is done in a striking neon green hue, as are the visible ABZORB SBS cushioning pods housed within the heel. The overlays are cut from a softer sage green nubuck, while the midsole and interior favor an even darker, almost militaristic shade. Reflective hits on the tongue and heel, standard fare on the model, provide another throughline back to workwear, while the hidden GORE-TEX enhancements are marked by a small black tag on the lateral side.
The GORE-TEX transformation itself falls in line with what the Boston brand has done with all its most popular lifestyle models, including the 2002R, 1906R, and others over the past few seasons. If this isn’t quite your cup of tea, we’re almost certain more GORE-TEX 2010s will follow in the coming weeks/months.
The New Balance 2010 GORE-TEX “Neon Green” releases Fall/Winter 2026, though no hard date has been announced as of this writing. Most general release 2010 colorways retail for $145, but we suspect a slight markup is in order given the weatherproofing enhancements here.
