Fragment Brings Their Signature Style to the Nike Book 2

Fragment and Nike are cooking this season, with a number of projects teased for the coming months. This week, another sneaker release has surfaced, with Hiroshi Fujiwara dipping into Nike’s basketball catalog for a blacked-out edition of the Book 2, coming soon.

Fragment and Nike have been close collaborators since their first release in 2010. The design label’s founder, Hiroshi Fujiwara, had previously worked with Nike through the HTM series, a project that saw him teaming up with Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker, then-CEO, to produce special-edition versions of some of Nike’s best footwear offerings. Over the years, Fragment has issued a number of high-profile Swoosh-branded projects, with the Air Jordan 1 standing head-and-shoulders above the rest as one of the greatest sneaker releases of all time.

This season, Fragment is returning to the performance side of Nike for a special release. After teasing a blacked-out pair of the new Mind 001 recovery slipper just a few weeks ago, Fragment is heading back onto the basketball court with their own version of the Book 2. Though the silhouette just released early this month, the Book 2 already has a number of special colorways lined up for releases soon, but we did not see this special collab coming. The look decks out the Chapter 2 model in black, using a contrasting white Swoosh on the lateral walls, and their signature royal blue tone for the medial side check mark. Lightning bolt branding appears on the heels, while their now-signature product info text is printed on either side of the soles.

FRAGMENT X NIKE BOOK 2 RELEASE INFORMATION

The leaked collaboration between Fragment Design and Nike has not been officially announced yet, but the project is expected to release on February 12th, just before the NBA All-Star game. Featuring Devin Booker’s Book 2, the model gets a clean black & white look, with just a hint of royal blue for the medial Swoosh. Pairs will likely be available in limited quantities from Nike, with a $150 price tag.
