The textile experts at Maharishi are reuniting with adidas this year, releasing a simple ‘Carbon’ black iteration of the Handball Spezial for their first collaboration with the Three Stripes since 2014.

London’s Maharishi is no stranger to adidas collaborations. The ‘pacifist military design’ brand, which originated in 1994, has teamed up with the Three Stripes before, almost ten years ago in a three-way collaboration with Undefeated. Since then, they’ve applied their textile knowledge to other iconic brands, creating Nike By You palettes and a string of Reebok releases. Now, they are reuniting with adidas for a special release of the Handball Spezial. Applying a simple colorway to the silhouette, the suede upper is decked out in black, with carbon grey Three Stripes on either side. The shoe features a semi-translucent gumsole and gold foil Maharishi branding to complete the look.

Maharishi and adidas’ next project has not been announced for release yet, though we expect to see them launch sometime late in 2023. Featuring the Handball Spezial in a Carbon black colorway, pairs will likely be available from both partners and select retailers with a price tag around $120.
