First Look at the Upcoming Nike Air Max 1 "Puerto Rico" Pack

Nike often shows love to its fans out in Puerto Rico by crafting special footwear colorways that are devoted to its nation. In the past, we've seen the Swoosh cook up Air Trainer 1s, Air Max 97s and Air Force 1 Lows that are designed with the territory's signature colors, and now the Beaverton brand is slated to add a duo of Air Max 1s to this repertoire. The timing of this preview makes perfect sense given that National Puerto Rican Day is coming up on June 11, 2023. For this initiative, Nike designers cooked one of the iterations with off-white underlays and bold blue overlays and jeweled Swooshes — a palette that's similar to the Air Force 1 Lows that were released in 2022. Red eyelets and heel branding reference the Caribbean island's flag while the "Puerto Rico" adorned lace deubrés are finished in metallic silver. Its release sibling takes a more vibrant approach as it is styled with muted gray underlays while orange and yellow overlays sit adjacent while its deubrés deviate with a gilded exterior. Both pairs will also be housed inside special shoe boxes that feature ice cream flavors on the exterior. Sit tight for further word on their official launch. For more sneaker news, the Nike ISPA Mindbody has been unveiled in "Light Cream" and "White/Black" colorways.
