Towards the end of 2022, Nike offered a glimpse at what looked to be a retro run of Kevin Durant's Nike KD 3 from 2010. Since then, the Nike Basketball team has confirmed this revival with reveals of returning pairs such as the "Christmas" look joined by a new take on the "Easy Money" theme. Now, the Swoosh has revealed that the silhouette is set to receive the iconic "Aunt Pearl" treatment.Commemorating Durant's late Aunt Pearl Williams, the Swoosh and KD have assembled "Aunt Pearl"-themed looks for over a decade now, with a recent reveal indicating its upcoming arrival on the new KD 16. In addition to this, it celebrates his former basketball coach Kay Yow, who similarly battled cancer. The two are referenced with a special note at the heel while the shoe features various pink hues across its upper. Rounding out the look, a semi-translucent outsole appears alongside a white midsole.At the time of writing, Nike has not confirmed any release info pertaining to the KD 3 "Aunt Pearl" and its launch period.
