The Retro business remains Jordan Brand’s bread and butter, but as we’ve noted before, they’ve engaged in a ton of table setting around those main courses. On the hoops end, the Jordan Triangle and Heir Series 2 have added additional performance flanks to the enduring numbered series, and lifestyle has seen countless new editions over the past decade, everything from the Jordan 4 RM to the Jordan Mule.

While the “Restomod” concept only truly applied to the AJ4, its spirit has continued to inform silhouettes that followed. In similar fashion, the Jordan Ultra built off of the Jordan 3 legacy, while the Jordan MVP 92 carried similar echoes of the Jordan 7. Ever the fan-favorite, a continuation of the Air Jordan 11 is certainly enough to stop the presses; the Jordan Dimension 95 delivers on that promise.

Our first looks come via official images, allowing us to comprehensively dissect what this offshoot brings to the table. You’ll immediately note where the Dimension 95 stays true to its foundation: the AJ11 platform is intact, as is the overall silhouette, keeping pretty true to the contours of the Jordan 11 Low. It’s the spaces between where things go a bit wild. The Jordan 4 RM is relevant in how the upper reforms, using similar mesh materiality and a TPU cage on the side. Though you can trace the geometry of the AJ11’s iconic mudguard, here it’s split into three distinct panels, additionally eschewing any patent leather treatments. Finally, the checkerboard patterning of the carbon fiber midsole plate appears on the medial side.

Though the patent leather hallmark of the AJ11 has frequently inspired mash-up concepts out of Jordan Brand before, strict offshoots from its design are fewer and farther between. You’d likely have to page back to the era of the Jordan Future for the last one to truly make an impact, utilizing the same sole unit with woven uppers. Further back, the Air Jordan 11 Low IE presents another comp, currently experiencing a mini renaissance, though its launching closer to the 1995 debut of the silhouette makes it more of a sanctioned step in the legacy versus a later interpretation.

Nonetheless, all that history looms over the Jordan Dimension 95 and potentially sets it up to be a sleeper model once it hits the market. To that end, it’s already been listed on retail calendars with an August 1st date and a $135 retail price in men’s sizing attached. Whether that’ll hold for a wide Nike.com release is yet to be seen.
