Jordan 12 “Cherry” Returns On October 28th

First seen in 1997, the Air Jordan 12 “Cherry” returns for Holiday 2023.

Officially clad in “White/Varsity Red/Black,” the iconic sneaker is deserving of the fruit-related moniker giving its rich ruby-colored touches. Inspired by Japan’s flag and appropriate of the Chicago Bulls’ Home uniform, the inaugural Air Jordan 12 has only been retrod in 2009, making its return a special occasion. Tinker Hatfield’s exact specifications were followed for the impending reissue: “Varsity Red” detailing is much more vibrant than the last retro; mudguards feature updated scale pattern; and the shoe’s overall shape is on-par with the original.

The “Cherry” Air Jordan is one of 14 pairs in the Jordan Brand Retro Collection: Holiday 2023. Other offerings have enjoyed widespread fanfare, but few match the excitement of the “White/Varsity Red/Black”-covered sneaker as it’s associated with Michael Jordan’s fifth NBA title. Furthermore, Nike, Inc. teased fans by releasing an Air Jordan 12 Low Golf in the exact color scheme last December. The wait, however, is almost over.
