After more than a year of waiting, Fat Joe’s next Terror Squad Air Force 1 is finally ready for retail.
The red-and-white colorway first surfaced early year, further extending the Terror Squad Air Force 1 story that dates back to the early 2000s when Nike produced exclusive pairs for Fat Joe and his inner circle. Those shoes eventually became some of the most recognizable friends-and-family Air Force 1s of their era before Nike began bringing the concept to retail decades later.
This latest edition keeps things appropriately simple with University Red leather overlays and outsole, while white fills the toe box, quarter panels, Swoosh, and midsole. Most importantly, the familiar “TS” logo is embroidered at the lateral heel, connecting the release directly to those coveted originals.
For the shoe’s official campaign, Nike kept things close to home by enlisting both Fat Joe and his daughter to be photographed throughout the Bronx–on park benches, inside chicken shops, and posted up on a G-Wagon. It’s an appropriate backdrop for a collaboration so closely connected to the legendary rapper and the borough he has represented throughout his career.
So, after months without firm launch information, the Terror Squad x Nike Air Force 1 “University Red” releases September 9th via SNKRS for $150, with pairs also dropping at UP NYC, Fat Joe’s sneaker store in the Bronx.
