Engineered Garments sneaker collaborations are always a pleasant surprise. This week, our favorite pocket-crazy apparel label has teamed up with Converse to release a special pair of their Weapon retro.

The Converse Weapon is an important piece of the brand’s arsenal, and history on the NBA court. The silhouette was first unleashed during the NBA’s All-Star weekend in 1986, but was shelved shortly afterward in 1988. In that time, the shoe had an immense impact on the game, mainly through the athletes that donned the shoe on court. The shoe was worn by both Larry Bird and Magic Johnson during their rivalry years, fueling the already dangerous Weapon with even more history. This week, New York’s Engineered Garments has cooked up a special pack featuring two remixed colorways of the low-top version. Arriving in either black & white or yellow, purple, and white, both pairs add velcro straps over the top of the foot and around the heel for plenty of extra lockdown.

The latest sneaker release from Engineered Garments has been scheduled to release this week, on Friday, May 1st, 2026. This project brings us their take on the iconic Converse Weapon, cast in white, purple, or a simple black & white for the occasion. Pairs are set to drop via the SNKRS app for $145.
