Cecilie Bahnsen Gives ASICS’ GEL-QUANTUM a Feminine, Floral Touch for SS24

Cecilie Bahnsen’s partnership with ASICS has always struck the delicate balance of everyday functionality with a youthful, feminine look. The Copenhagen-based designer made waves in the sneaker and high fashion industries alike, particularly with her last release for the brand, a model of the GT-2160 that adapted the shoe into a girlish Mary Jane.While the designer hasn’t given word on the next release from the ongoing collaboration, she previewed the latest Cecilie Bahnsen x ASICS model at her Spring/Summer 2024 showcase at Paris Fashion Week. It doesn’t appear that the designer altered the silhouette of the GEL-QUANTUM and simply added a few girlish embellishments.“This one is an upcycled collaboration which we also did for the show last summer so, it’s a nod to that,” Bahnsen told Hypebae. “We also wanted to embody these very couture pieces so, there’s only a run of 50 and they are all handmade in our studio.”Customers will have to wait to get their hands on a pair of the floral sneakers as it'll be launching in 2024 in a "limited" run.In other footwear news, Rider and Pedro Andrade collaborated on the FrogR, a sustainable Amazon-inspired footwear.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
