This Fall/Winter 2024 season in Tokyo Fashion Week saw some of the most sought-after footwear pieces of previous and most recent collections. From classics to sold-out collaborations and homegrown and international brands, Tokyo brought forward some of the most intricate shoe stylings of the Fall/Winter 2024 season. While many ended the hectic season with Paris the week before, some traveled across continents to attend Tokyo Fashion Week. Although a smaller scale event in comparison to the European fashion weeks, one must not discount the Japanese capital city. Japanese-grown brands like COMME des GARÇONS was sported on the streets of Tokyo, specifically its Double Head Derby lace-up shoes from its Spring/Summer 2024 HOMME PLUS collection. The hybrid design from sacai and Nike's Magamsacape from its Fall/Winter 2023 collection also made an appearance during the week. Leather shoes like Rick Owens' signature platformed grilled boots and the Maison Margiela Tabi boots were amongst standouts to round out the ghoulish and leather clad outfits in Tokyo. Other collaborations include the ASICS x Cecilie Bahnsen and Jacquemus x Nike J Force 1. Of course, New Balance, Nike and adidas sneakers are still wardrobe staple. The Jordan Brand finds itself still a streetwear classic with the Air Jordan 13 making a retro comeback.
