Awake Jordan 6, Westside Gunn Saucony, And This Week’s Best Releases

Get ready to see the word “Saffiano leather” more than ever before.

That’s right; Angelo Baque and AWAKE NY’s Air Jordan 6, teased for months now, is finally upon us. Not only does it headline our weekly releases round-up, but it also starts off the week, as its EQL raffle goes live on Sunday. The “Blueberry” colorway goes wide later in the week for those who may strike out at that first opportunity. Clean on the other side of the industry, Westside Gunn and Saucony redoubles his status as the brand’s premier collaborator with a fur-coated Jazz 9.

Running through the rest of the slate, adidas and Bad Bunny are back in action with the F50 Ghost Sprint, the Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” is back for only the second time since its initial release, the Kobe 10 enters the Protro program, Chevy and Devin Booker revisit their partnership and Crocs has three collaborative efforts in the works.

August 23rd sees a long-awaited collab come off the board: the AWAKE Jordan 6 in both colorways drops via an AWAKE EQL raflfe. The Nike Kobe 10 “Halo” follows, initiating one of the Mamba’s later stage silos into the Protro program. Finally, though a Japan exclusive, the Air Jordan 12 “Sumo” is on the schedule if they’re coming to your city.

August 25th again promises the Nike SB Air Force 1 Low “Light Chocolate.” If you’re getting deja vu, this is the latest date for the skate/lifestyle crossover, delayed twice from its original 8/13 drop. For the hoops-obssessed, the GT Cut 1 EYBL Unseen Hours and SLAM Hyperflight offers you your pick of the litter.  If you’re a college football hardcore, the NCAA Crocs College Football capsule delivers Crocband colorways for ten blue blood schools. The Colorado company doubles back with the Brain Dead Crocs, bringing the irreverent LA brand into their orbit.

August 26th has Devin Booker revisit his partnership with the totemic American automaker; the Chevy Book 2 “Pretty Penny” drops as the first of three expected this year. The Boston brand reimagines their latest “tech runner” as the New Balance 1890P, adding hardened overlays and candy-coated colorways. Though not officially confirmed, we’re also expecting the Terror Squad Air Force 1, letting loose Fat Joe’s public pair nearly three years after it first surfaced.

August 27th starts the Made in USA festivities for Fall/Winter, as the New Balance 990v4 Grey Violet and New Balance 993 Morel kick off this second season. The  Albino Preto ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 is also on the way, an electrifying takeover of the Japanese giant’s mashup.

August 28th brings the Westside Gunn Saucony Grid Jazz 9 into the ring, a fur-coated link-up where no two pairs are the same. Continuing in Beaverton, the Nike Air Force 1 Family Reunion adds jagged traction and a removable lace shroud to the Uptown, before the Nike Shox BB4 Lapis recalls Olympic Vince Carter again. Finally, the Pokemon Crocs partnership is rekindled with a PokeBall colorway and the tri-headed INVINCIBLE Madness ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 arrives.

August 29th has us seeing double; the AWAKE Jordan 6 “Blueberry” looms as the biggest on the slate again, seeing a wide release after AWAKE’s initial launch at the top of the week. For 2000’s heads, it’s the Air Jordan 8 “Chrome” that’s the prize, just the second ever bringback for this style. Benito rounds out our picture with the Bad Bunny adidas F50 Ghost Sprint “Charcoal,” a chilly take on his latest silhouette de jour.
