Albino & Preto is a household name in the sport of jiu-jitsu, crafting a true identity around gis and building out a lifestyle roster that brings things out of the academy. For our purposes, their biggest pop came when they brought their signature performance work onto the Nike SB Dunk Low, but they’ve maintained a grip on footwear since that 2023 effort, recently introducing a sport boot collab and holding a Saucony link-up in their history as well.
A new partner is getting into the mix. With the help of atmos creative director Hirofumi Kojima, the imprint dropped an initial teaser for an upcoming ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 duo. The Y2K silhouette gets outfitted in two dueling glossy looks, united by volt-tinged gradient soles but toggling between lightened and jet-black foundations. “Albino” branding also appears molded into the midsole between a network of X’s.
Little info beyond this advance shot is available at the time of this writing, but with A&P creative director Arvie Gimeno putting his stamp on this, it would indicate we should be hearing more soon. For now, check out the initial angles below.
