Jordan Brand will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the Air Jordan 6 in 2026, which means we will see many releases. Some will come as collaborations, while a few others will be original colorways. However, we will also see the Air Jordan 6 Low return to retailers. Although the low-top version isn’t a fan favorite, some people enjoy it, depending on the colorway.
Expanding on the low-top lineup, we have the “Metamorphosis” Air Jordan 6 Low. This pair will be a women’s exclusive, debuting in Fall 2026.
Although the inspiration for this Air Jordan 6 Low is unknown, due to the nickname, it could have a caterpillar-to-butterfly theme. Metamorphosis, typically associated with insects and amphibians, refers to the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more stages. Also, the simple color blocking could be associated with butterflies.
At the time of writing, I was unable to see a first look at this Air Jordan 6 Low. However, the shoes will be dressed in Black, Desert Berry, and Metallic Silver. Shown is a mock-up based on the color description. While not confirmed, it’s possible that the shoes will feature mostly Black across the upper, with Desert Berry accents, including on the midsole. Other details may include Metallic Silver on the lace lock and a blacked-out translucent rubber outsole.

The Air Jordan 6 Low “Metamorphosis” will be released in Fall 2026 at select Jordan Brand retailers, including Nike.com, Foot Locker, Finish Line, DSG, and Hibbett. Since this pair is part of Jordan Brand’s Fall lineup, it will release between July and September 2026. The retail price is currently unknown. Once we have more details, we will update you.
I am not a big fan of the Air Jordan 6 Low, but it really depends on the colorway. While this pair could have potential, and I should reserve judgment until I see them, I can honestly say I am not excited at all. However, for those who like the low-top version, I hope you enjoy them; it will be some time before we get a first look.
