One of the more intriguing collections Jordan Brand had queued up for 2026 is beginning to take shape. The “Black Pack,” including the Air Jordan 17 Low “Black Patent,” will be dropping off stealthy editions throughout the rest of the year, with the AJ17 the first to come to light via retailer images.
While this colorway isn’t any less special, overall there isn’t a ton to dissect. It’s a murdered-out look that makes good on its title with glossy materiality throughout the upper, finished with some dark blue traction and metallic silver detailing. The intrigue today is on a strategic level, as European retailers listing this pair follows in a long line of early drops on the continent, sometimes pre-empting United States releases by several weeks or eclipsing them entirely (certain insiders have reported that the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Sail” may not even touch stateside channels).
Zooming out, this does continue a sustained, albeit prolonged, revival of the Air Jordan 17, first with reissues of the “Lightning” and “University Blue.” The company upped the ante as Easy Otabor and his Infinite Archives rolled out their collaboration, but also as Zach Rumbaugh took over the silhouette as part of the Doernbecher Freestyle program. Overall, the “Black Pack,” which will also touch the AJ14, AJ15, and AJ16, serves as a spotlight on some later-stage MJ signatures, with the latter three especially considered underappreciated steps in his numbered line.
Again, the Air Jordan 17 Low “Black Patent” has now appeared on overseas release calendars for August 8th. Whether that will hold stateside or if we should be looking forward to a release further down the line is currently unconfirmed. For now, check out our best look yet via the image gallery below.
