Nearly twenty-four years afters it’s launch, the adidas Y-3 line is still producing killer high-end versions of performance gear. This season, they’ll release a special pack of the Predator Precision, timed for release ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

adidas’ Y-3 line launched in 2002 as a groundbreaking partnership between adidas and Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, merging high fashion with sportswear in a way few brands had attempted before. The name Y-3 references Yamamoto, the three adidas stripes, and the collaboration’s shared identity. Y-3 reimagined athletic silhouettes with avant-garde tailoring, monochromatic palettes, and experimental materials, challenging traditional ideas of performance wear. Over the years, Y-3 has influenced the rise of luxury sportswear, and positioned adidas as an early leader in blending runway aesthetics with technical footwear and apparel.

This year, a new addition to the Y-3 family has caught our eye, which leans into the trend of slim, non-spiked soccer shoes for casual wear. Preparing for a timely launch ahead of the World Cup, Y-3 is adapting the Predator Precision silhouette for high fashion, bringing luxurious materials and a tonal look the silhouette in two colorways. The shoe’s jagged, tooth-like Three Stripes are still the star of the show here, but they blend into the background well, cast in either black or white leather. The shoe’s toe-like underlay cutouts come with a ribbed construction, cast once again in either black or white. The white style breaks from the tonal mold with black tongues and inner linings, and both shoes feature silver Y-3 branding on the tongue fold.

ADIDAS Y-3 PREDATOR PRECISION PACK RELEASE INFORMATION

The upcoming release from adidas Y-3 has not been announced yet, but is likely to hit shelves during Spring 2026, before the start of this year’s World Cup. Featuring a high-end take on the Predator Precision, pairs will come in either an all-white or all-black color scheme, available from Y-3 retail partners. No pricing info is available yet, but we expect them to come in at over $200.
