adidas has become one of Disney’s go-to brands for footwear collaborations, releasing many character-themed shoes so far this decade. This season they’re teaming up for a series of shoes for the upcoming Toy Story 5, in theaters next month.

Disney is one of the most influential and powerful media companies in the world. Their acquisitions of the Star Wars and Marvel universes helped bring the company a wider audience, and their merch offerings alone generate hundreds of millions of dollar per year for the House of Mouse. In the past decade, the Disney empire has expanded its offerings into the world of sneakers & streetwear, partner with brands like Kith and adidas to deliver footwear and apparel plastered with many of their iconic characters. With the release of Pixar’s Toy Story 5 coming up in June, Disney has turned to adidas for a special sneaker release highlighting the franchise’s main characters.

Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear are the stars of the show for the upcoming Toy Story x adidas collection. Woody already has a signature pair of the Samba under his belt from last year, but is doubling down in 2026 with a fresh take on the pair. The new edition brings a denim upper to the classic trainer paired with brown accents and plaid stripes & inner linings to match his shirt. Jessie will also join the Samba hype through the model’s Mary Jane variant, also sporting denim and cow print accents. Buzz Lightyear’s Adistar Control 5 is the main attraction of this project for me, perfectly capturing the color blocking of his Space Ranger suit with white, green, and purple shades. This look will also be available in kids’ sizing, for which the sole adds light-up accents.

TOY STORY 5 X ADIDAS COLLECTION RELEASE INFORMATION

The latest series of Toy Story-themed sneakers from adidas are currently scheduled to release next month, on June 1st, 2026, ahead of the fifth movie’s debut. This project brings three characters into one pack of sneakers, Buzz Lightyear’s Control 5, Woody’s denim Samba, and Jessie’s Samba Mary Jane. Pairs will be available from both adidas and select retailers like Footlocker, priced from $110 to $130.
