Above the Clouds’ Asics’ GT-2160 Releases in October

Australia’s Above the Clouds has a fresh project with Asics coming this season, following up on their Skycourt release last year. This time, the retailer is tackling the retro GT-2160, dressing it in a clean ‘Shamrock green’ colorway.

The Asics GT-2160 is back this year, bringing the 2011 running shoe into the brand’s SportStyle category. Releases kicked off early this Summer in collaboration with Montreal’s Dime, and after a few in-line colorways that followed, the next collaboration has surfaced, this time from Australian sneaker store Above the Clouds. Having collaborated with Asics previously for pairs of the Skycourt in 2022 and the GEL-1090 in 2020, AtC is no stranger to the brand. For their take on the older running shoe, the’ve dressed the silhouette in new materials and a clean color scheme. The look begins with a translucent mesh base layer in the toes, with a traditional wide gauge mesh for the heel sections. Mid layers are added in a snakeskin-textured metallic silver, with bold green tones for the overlays. Cream-colored laces add some neutral tones, while hints of blue complete the look.

The latest release from Australia’s Above the Clouds and Asics has been scheduled to release in the coming weeks, on October 13th, 2023. Dressing the GT-2160 in a ‘Shamrock Green’ colorway, pairs will be available first from the retailer, likely followed by a wider Asics release for $150.
