Looking towards the future is obviously always the intention for any brand, but Nike has done well to attach some of the game’s brightest stars to the Nike GT Cut 4; Paige Bueckers, AJ Dybantsa, and Victor Wembanyama have all already laced up the sleek silhouette in action. Yet as the model grows older, it’s also penning an issue for the real next generation, as kids’ pairs of the Wemby x Nike GT Cut 4 come to light.

The Frenchman’s handiwork is well-noted on the heel, where rabid metallic red shading coats a “VW” brand on the left shoe and Nike text on the right. Zooming out, this PE-to-public pair coats in stealthy Safari print, utilizing metallic gold hits on the sides before going a bit stealthier on the toe.

Beyond just the shrunken-down size of the shoe at hand, there’s some genuine remodeling that the GT Cut 4 does to befit this life as a kids’ shoe. Most notably, the synthetic molded interiors here switch into a mesh fabric. When paired with a more traditional tongue set-up, it should help soften the on-foot experience, something that various testers have cited as a (literal) pain point when it comes to the silhouette.

The Wemby x Nike GT Cut 4 “Metallic Gold” should be touching down in both adult and grade school sizing sometime in May; retailers appear split on whether that’ll come toward the start of the month or the end. We’ll keep you posted with more info as it comes.
