This year and last, Nike has given us some headlines we truly thought we’d never see. The Undefeated Air Jordan 4 becoming a widely available product? Surreal. A collab on the Air Jordan 11? Comme Des Garçons will make it a reality later this year. Even NIGO, a sordid figure in the eyes of Beaverton for so long, linking hands with the Swoosh would’ve been unthinkable at a point in time.

Do any of those make revisiting The Menthol 10, crafted by Ari Saal Forman in 2006, any less distant of a possibility? In a word: no. The immediate legal action by Nike only made that custom job a more infamous part of sneaker collecting lore, so though we’re not holding our breath for an official stamp, maybe we’ve got the next best thing.

A shaggy suede version of the Air Force 1 Low is genuinely pretty uncanny when compared to that notorious edition. A white/gum sole unit, pine green uppers, and yellow laces help make the strongest argument, though said materiality and a lack of a white toe box make this a look unto itself. Nonetheless, if the tacit connection to the 2006 design wasn’t enough to move the needle for you, Nike has included bronze bangles to be added to the laces, an eye-catching detail for the possibly uninitiated.

Officially titled the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Game Day,” this pair should be coming to Nike.com and the typical retail channels in the coming weeks. A $125 retail price is confirmed.
