Given that precedent of retros that dip far back into the archive, it’s no major surprise that official images of new Nike Waffle Racer pairs are beginning to trickle out. Though no doubt utilizing newer materiality, this renewed push sticks rather close to the construction of the OG, replete with the square traction that lends the model its name and reaches beyond the midsole as it mirrors the shape of the toeguard. The plush nylon body, separating just below the swoosh and in a pronounced stripe underneath the collar, also remains true. However, the outsole does break in one key way, as the Bill Bowerman-era patent number stamped on the very bottom of the design is absent in this 2025/26 retread.

Still, the atmosphere of that period lives on through a bevy of simplistic colorways, including a yellow/green that alludes to the “Oregon Racer” palette. Further in the billing, we see everlasting combos like “White/Navy,” “Black/White,” and “Navy/Orange,” with a trendier olive also joining the mix.

Though not seen in earnest since 2020, the Waffle Racer has been in the consciousness even when it hasn’t been on the shelves. The hybrid Nike Air Max Waffle was the most recent, but Sacai and Off-White are just some of the A-list labels that’ve kept the legacy alive in the past decade.

The Nike Waffle Racer is already available in a “Black/White” colorway, with the rest of the colorways discussed in this piece and shown below expected to hit the usual Nike channels in the coming weeks.
