Today’s consumers are far more interested in Y2K runners than silhouettes from the ’70s and ’80s, but that era still plays an important role in Nike’s lifestyle lineup. The 1979-born Nike Daybreak isn’t a model that grabs our attention often, but this latest duo is unique enough to make us take a second look.
The Daybreak here trades its usual mesh and suede construction for an all-leather, puffy build that almost channels a Moon Boot vibe. The Swoosh and toe are defined by stitching rather than separate panels, while the eyelets and heel retain a more traditional structure. Leather tongue tags, debossed Nike branding on the back tab, and rope “Light Bone” laces add to the premium aesthetic. Underfoot, Bill Bowerman’s legendary waffle tread makes an always-welcome appearance.
The Nike Daybreak “Light Bone” pack releases November 18th through Nike SNKRS, priced at $115 each. See official images below if these speak to your taste.
