The Nike Air Max Plus has been a mainstay on our newswire all year long, be it through offshoot models like the Air Max Plus Drift, collabs, or new GR colorways that are simply applaudable. As we step deeper into Q4, the Sean McDowell classic has shown no signs of slowing down, now presented with a clean “University Gold” gradient atop a black base.

The nickname possibilities afforded here are plentiful. The black and yellow palette evokes Batman and Wu-Tang Dunks all the same, not to mention myriad other black and yellow classics like the Jordan 12 Taxi. The gradient seen here is a tad more reserved than usual, cropping up primarily around the heel. Black treatments account for the rest of the upper, save for “University Gold” tongue branding a white mini Swoosh for contrast. While diehard TN fans might favor an all-black midsole for consistency, the center portion actually appears in white. The midfoot structure mimics the black to “University Gold” gradient see up top, paving a seamless transition to the outsole to cap off the delivery.
