Teddy Santis continues to bring his mastery of color-blocking to the New Balance Made in USA platform, prepping models like the NB 998 in fall-appropriate ensembles.

As the end of the year inches closer, the Aimé Leon Dore has traded the vibrant yellows and purples for understated brown and green. The anniversary-celebrating New Balance 998 recently appeared in the two-tone color combination, perhaps inspired by the classic “beef and broccoli” arrangement Santis used on the NB 993 in November 2021. Rich shades of green animate everything from the profile “N” logos to the breathable mesh visible at the toe and collar; honey-colored suede appears at the vamp and spine, further contrasting the deep brown panels covering most of the upper. ABZORB midsole cushioning underfoot opts for an off white finish that flirts with Santis’ preferred “aged” aesthetic, while tried-and-proven traction favors a simple black tone.
