Some faces in New Balance’s Made in USA family shuffle in and out of relevance, but essentially since the brand’s revived golden age began, the New Balance 993 has been a staple, touched by nearly every one of the brand’s S-tier collaborators over that span. As is so often the case with footwear brands, the Boston giant’s against-type expressions under co-designed efforts have begun to bleed over into their general release fare, something evident as the New Balance 993 “Red Suede” begins hitting the market.

This likely lands as another step in the “Community” series that New Balance first developed on the 990v6, immediately catching eyes on social media and within the NB fandom for its collab-like use of vibrant overtones. Shortly afterwards, the same ethos bridged onto the New Balance 993. Though the blocking differs from earlier light blue and pink pairs, this registers as another showstopper in contrast to the typical Boston brand neutrality. That comes with fiery red suede and mesh base layers, bracketed by black tongues, heel collars, and sole units, before a hit of reflective silver graces the “N” branding on the sides.
