All eyes are on the New Balance 990v7 as the Boston brand begins gearing up to induct a new member into its vaunted 99x series. Yet with the company likely to be flirting with $10 billion in annual revenue by the end of 2025, of course, it’s not the only game in town. The New Balance 1890A is marching ahead as NB’s belle of the sneaker loafer ball, having supplanted the viral 1906L as an active bridge between formalwear and casualwear.
That sibling is particularly relevant when it comes to the colorway at hand, as this pair compares favorably to the “Silver/Shadow Grey” pair that originally took over the timeline. Having already explored plenty of fashion-forward arrangements from the snakeskin yellow to the cow print suede, we now see the 1890A veer closer back to the Boston brand’s love for grey, rather comprehensive its embrace from chrome overlays to solid mesh foundations to shaded midsoles. The change in the exact shade from section to section still allows for a bit of visual depth before a jet-black outsole completes this design.
The New Balance 1890A “Truffle Salt” should be coming soon to NewBalance.com, retailing for $180. Catch official images included below.
