Sat squarely in the inner circle of the Boston brand’s most valuable partners, Action Bronson was an obvious choice to debut the New Balance 1890, teeing up esoterically titled “Hornet Tusk” and “Cyborg Tears” as the sport-forward silhouette became known to the world. However, as Paris Fashion Week revealed with new looks at the New Balance 1890A, there’s more than just the “F*ck That’s Delicious” head in mind for the retro silhouette.

True to that, general release colorways of the New Balance 1890 are beginning to trickle out to the newswire, including the yellow and black we have on tap today. A combination of the archival 890 runner’s upper and the original platform from the New Balance 2002 (no R), the result is a model with a chimera-like cross trainer aesthetic. With ABZORB cushioning having its own moment, purposely at the fore in the title of the ABZORB 2000 and ABZORB 2010, that chunky sole unit is only more apt. The application of this bumblebee palette is sensible; suede and no-sew synthetic overlays deliver most of the sunny shades while jet black handles the foundation.

The New Balance 1890 in yellow and black has started populating retailers overseas, likely coming to New Balance channels stateside in short order. Expect a $190 retail price upon arrival.
