The Converse Shai 001 Goes Lux With a “Truffle” Colorway

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander debuted his first signature shoe with Converse one year ago this week. With a range of colors out in the wild, this season the two are stepping it up a notch, dropping a new Lux version in “Truffle” brown this month.

The Converse SHAI 001 marks a major moment for Converse and NBA star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, launching in 2025 as his first signature basketball shoe and a symbol of his role as Creative Director of Converse Basketball. Designed with both performance and personal expression in mind, the SHAI 001 features a puffed, molded upper with a distinctive zipper shroud, Nike Zoom Air cushioning, and radial traction for cutting and responsiveness on court. Its debut “Butter” colorway dropped in September 2025, followed by a run of colors dedicated to SGA’s family. Now, the shoe is taking a step in a more luxurious direction. The new Lux variant of the Shai 001 features smooth, full-grain nubuck leather across the upper, even incorporating some of the material into the midsoles. The entire silhouette has been cast in a “Truffle” brown shade for its debut, coming later this month.

CONVERSE SHAI 001 LUX “TRUFFLE” RELEASE INFORMATION

The new Lux edition of SGA’s Converse Shai 001 is scheduled for it’s wide release later this month, on February 26th, 2026. Dressed in a soft “Truffle” brown nubuck leather, the material even covers parts of the midsole for this special release. Pairs will be available from both Nike’s SNKRS app and select retailers, with a higher price tag of $170 for the upgraded style.
