ASICS marches to the beat of its own drum. Nowhere is that more eveident than with the GEL-Kayano 14. For most brands, a silhouette with as much traction as the erstwhile running shoe would still be marching through the collaborative car wash to maintain hype.

On top of being more selective with their partners than your average sportswear company, the Japanese giant has focused its efforts on highlighting the GEL-Quantum series and other tech runner favorites, leaving mainline efforts to propel the GK14 forward. Keeping with that theme of not “reinventing the wheel,” the ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 “Concrete” sticks to a grey-heavy retro script for its latest. Built of a silver base and darker platform beneath, the real visual intrigue comes from another podium position, as subtle goldena ccents course through the heel for some more metallic energy.
