Though initially debuting in 1999, the presence of the adidas Intimidation has been felt throughout the Three Stripes catalog during its time in the shadows. Inspiring the Yeezy 500 (via a direct graft of its sole unit) showcases how the retro-futuristic design language the model displays is still in vogue. With standouts like the Anthony Edwards 1 and Harden Vol. 9 born of that same school of thought, there’s never been a moment more primed to embrace the “Feet You Wear” silhouette.

Already teased for a more full-throated retro effort via collaborations with Packer and a yet-upcoming HAL Studios Intimidation Low, adidas now shuffles the model into its broader catalog for one of its first inline looks. It’s best aligned with the tonal take that HAL Studios brings to the table, embracing a tonal atmosphere in “Beige”/”Light Ivory” that balances the maximalist top notes the Intimidation capitalizes on with a more relaxed colorway. To that point, all of the outer aspects of the shoe, including the ribbed TPU cage, are doused in off-white, leaving just the throat of the shoe in jet black contrast.
