It is near-impossible to have as good a first few months as Bad Bunny has. Anyone who steps on the Super Bowl halftime show ends up being a scorching hot topic, but bracketed around that achievement, he’s notched a Grammy Award for Album of the Year and only his second career Billboard Hot 100 #1 record. Whether Benito would consider it in the same realm of those three is a different story, but we’ve of course taken note of how his most significant step in footwear has played out as well; the adidas Badbo 1.0 becoming a sell-out event in its own right for its inaugural duo of colorways.

How Ocasio’s first signature plays out in subsequent editions now becomes one of the biggest stories on our end, something that the adidas BadBo 1.0 “Rise” will no doubt help clarify. First worn for the official Apple Music press conference before the Big Game, it’s another step in the earthy direction that Bad Bunny has championed throughout his sneaker journey, stretching back to his extensive work on the Campus. The model, partially inspired by the archival Streetwise silhouette, pins off-white suede on its exterior before shifting into a black mesh one layer below. The vibrant echoes of his Gazelle series still make an impact with subtle yet effective royal blue trim, before a gum sole closes out this chapter.
