2026 marks a massive milestone in Pokémon history, with the brand turning thirty years old. They’ve been pumping out special projects all year, with a massive adidas sneaker collection lined up for September.

Pokémon has been a childhood staple of many children over the last thirty years, whether your first game was on the GameBoy Color or the Switch 2. As of 2025, the Pokémon Company has released over 120 different games featuring their ever-growing roster of ‘mons, and issued hundreds of different series of the trading card game. In 2026, the brand is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary, teaming up with a wide range of other brands for a massive line up of new merch and sneaker and apparel collaborations. Our first peak at their work with adidas came late last year, and this weekend the huge 30th anniversary collection of sneakers has leaked in full, boasting twelve silhouettes nodding to iconic pocket monsters.

This collection of sneakers is absolutely massive. adidas has released similarly expansive projects this year, most notably with The Whitaker Group, and their Game of Thrones Ultraboost collection in 2019. This Pokémon project, however, is a bit of a game changer. Each shoe comes with plenty of added details taken directly from the pocket monster of choice, molded horns into heel cups, adding winged lace attachments, and custom tongue labels for every pair. Several legendary ‘mons also get several sneakers each. Starting things off, Mewtwo is one of the three-sneaker Pokemon, getting pairs of the ZX 8000, Samba, and Handball, each in his muted purple and pink palette. The Hoenn region’s Rayquaza gets two models as well, the Adistar Control 5 and the F50 Tunit Mega, both in deep green shades with yellow and red accents. Pikachu is present, as always, with three different takes on the Superstar to choose from.

Next come two full evolutionary lines, and some of the most popular Pokémon ever. Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard all get a special pair of the Superstar, with the latter two pairs being more premium versions with snakeskin leather uppers and zero graphic overlays. Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar also get a three-shoe pack, with the Adistar Control 5 features for the first two, while Gengar gets the most detailed pair of the bunch through an XLG 2.0 silhouette.

POKEMON X ADIDAS 30TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION RELEASE INFORMATION

The upcoming collaboration from Pokémon and adidas has not been officially announced yet, but the sprawling project is currently expected to land in September 2026. The collection features a whopping twelve sneakers, all of which will be available in adult sizing. Silhouettes includes Superstars, Control 5s, Sambas, Handballs, XLG 2.0s and more, and the pocket monster roster is an all-star lineup of Mewtwo, Rayquaza, Pikachu, and the full evolutionary lines of Gastly and Charmander. Pairs will likely be available through adidas and plenty of retailers. Pricing is currently unknown (not that kind of Unknown,) but the range is expected to be about $110 to $180.
