One of Michael Jordan’s Earliest Game-Worn Air Ships Is up for Auction

Michael Jordan's game-worn jerseys and threads are treasured relics that continue to skyrocket in value over time. We recently saw the six-time champion's used Converse All-Stars from the 1983 hit auction, and now a pair of Nike Air Ships that he laced up in his fifth NBA game in '84 has resurfaced and been listed via Goldin. The kicks originally landed in the hands of a local ball boy named Tj Lewis, whom MJ gifted the kicks after the Bulls lost to the Denver Nuggets that day. "To my surprise he suddenly notices me, looks down and grabs the shoes he wore in the game that night, looks back up at me and asks if I wanted them", Lewis said. "Of course I said yes, found a pen and had him sign both shoes." Lewis then sold the pair via auction back in 2021 for a staggering $1.47 million USD.The pair is done up with a Bulls-friendly palette that's predominantly built with smooth white leather and accented by bold hits of red atop the collars, Swooshes, tongue branding and treading. Jordan wrote "My Very Best To Tj Michael Jordan" on the left shoe and signed the right side with his moniker. At the time of writing, the current bid on Goldin sits at $160,000 USD. Bidding ends on September 13, 2023 at 10pm ET, so get those in while you can.For other news, official images of the Air Jordan 2 "Black Cement" have surfaced.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
