NOCTA x Nike Air Max BW Expected In 2027

Nike is bringing back one of the best Air Max models of all time next year. The Air Max BW, originally released in 1991, will be unearthed by none other than Drake via his collaborative Nike NOCTA line, per info shared by @bubblekoppe.

Nothing is known about the NOCTA sneaker yet other than the fact that it exists, at least in theory. This makes two upcoming NOCTA x Nike Air Max projects, joined by a NOCTA Air Max Plus collection that was supposed to drop in 2025 but has supposedly been delayed (perhaps to line up with the release of Drake’s long-awaited Iceman album).

For OG collectors, the return of the model itself is enough cause for celebration. Designed by sneaker legend Tinker Hatfield, the Air Max BW debuted to strong acclaim in the 90s and is still regarded as one of the most comfortable Air Max models of its era. The “BW” stands for “Big Window,” with the shoe using the same Air unit as the Air Max 90 from a year earlier while giving wearers a better view of it. The model has aged gracefully as a lifestyle icon, earning warm receptions with each comeback stint.

The Air Max BW’s last retro run began in 2021 for its 30th anniversary, delivering OG looks and a memorable “City Pack.” Might we see another resurgence in 2026 for the model’s 35th anniversary? Today’s headline certainly bodes well, so we’re eager to see how things unfold.

The NOCTA x Nike Air Max BW is due out Spring 2027, meaning sometime between next January and March. We’ll circle back with an update once there’s more info to report.
