Nike is going all in on their square-toed sneaker offerings for the coming year. Showing up at Paris Fashion Week with a dedicated showroom, the Swoosh teased a blunt pair of the Air Max 90.

Square-toed sneaker styles are going to be everywhere soon. Our first hint at the trend making its way to our corner of the footwear world came a few weeks ago, when a pair of adidas Stan Smith with the blunt forefoot leaked online. Then, Paris Fashion Week got underway this week, and Nike’s take on the Western-style toe boxes surfaced with the Air Force 1. This is not a brand new concept, square toed shoes have existed in various cultures and levels of fashion for hundreds of years, though they are more commonly seen in high fashion womenswear. Sneaker brands are never ones to miss a trend, and Nike has a few more styles lined up for coming releases. In addition to the AF1, the Air Max 90 has appeared with a squared forefoot this week. The look is hammered home by the removal of any curved lines int he AM90s upper, similar to the .SWOOSH “Low Poly” Air Max 1 from a few years back.

NIKE AIR MAX 90 SQUARE RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike has not made any release announcements regarding their upcoming series of square-toed sneakers, though pairs could arrive late in 2026, but are more likely coming for Spring 2027. The Air Max 90 seen here, which ditches any trace of curved line in the paneling, comes in a bold all-volt green color, with white edges for each piece of leather. Pairs will likely be available through both Nike and select retailers. Pricing is currently unknown.
