Nike SB has been doing some incredible work in recent years transforming iconic Nike shoes into skate-ready models. Next year, the Air Force 1 joins the series, with colorways like this “Light Chocolate” pair lined up for Fall 2026.
Nike SB has built its legacy by reimagining iconic Nike silhouettes through a skateboarding lens. Since its early 2000s debut, the brand has transformed classics like the Dunk, Blazer, and Air Jordan 1 into durable, skate-ready versions featuring padded tongues, reinforced panels, and grippy Zoom Air soles. In more recent years, they’ve adapted the Air Jordan 4 and Air Max 95 in board-ready iterations. These updates honored Nike’s sports heritage while meeting the technical needs of skaters. The fusion of basketball, lifestyle, and skate culture helped Nike SB become a crossover success, bridging performance design with streetwear influence that continues to shape modern sneaker trends.
Next year, Nike SB will introduce their latest addition to their lineup of modified Nike classics, with the Air Force 1. The project has been in the works for months now, with many wear test pairs appearing on the feet of famous skaters. UPDATE 5/27/26: After initially leaking last Fall, Nike SB’s “Light Chocolate” Air Force 1 has surfaced in a promo sample this week. The pair is still rumored to hit shelves later this year, so a sample winding up in the hands of the public is not exactly confirmation quite yet.
