Nike Releasing Another “Athletic Department” Air Max 1

In 2022, the iconic Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Max 1 celebrated its 35th Anniversary. Now, in 2023, the celebration continues with fresh color options and classic renditions. Nike also introduces the nostalgic “Athletic Department” collection, paying homage to college sports.

The latest Air Max 1 features a White mesh base with Natural tones on the midfoot and heel overlays. Deep Royal nubuck accents appear on the Swooshes and mudguards, extending underfoot. Teal pops add a vibrant touch to the upper eyelets, tongue branding, heel, insoles, and toe area of the outsole. Completing the design is an aged midsole atop a Black rubber outsole.
