Nike’s Dunk Low still has some special releases on the way for the end of 2025, despite Nike saying the silhouette would slow down in the future. This week, a smooth “Brown Kelp” style has surfaced, coming soon.
The Dunk Low has been a focus of Nike’s catalog since its grand return back in 2020. The silhouette was long withheld from mass markets to keep the shoe’s identity as a grail-status silhouette intact, but all of that changed at the change of the decade. Nike has produced hundreds, if not thousands, of new colorways for the Dunk in the last five years. Recently, they’ve stated in shareholders reports that this saturation of the market would slow down, but there is still some juice left in the tap before it gets shut off completely.
This week, we have an official look at a new pair of the Dunk Low coming sometime this Fall, dressed in a seasonally appropriate “Brown Kelp” color scheme. The model gets something of a luxe makeover for this style, with a mix of a fleece-like material for the base and canvas overlays. Both textiles appear soft and worn to the touch, and boast a number of unique details for this release. Perforations on the toe box have been removed in favor of a stitched + mark, Swooshes are completely embroidered in black, and the heel panels feature a decorative blanket stitch around the edges. Finally, two colors of laces are included with each pair.
