Introduced in 2004, Nike Basketball launched the Air Zoom Huarache 2K4. Over the years, we have seen a handful of retro releases of the classic shoe, worn by various NBA players, including Kobe Bryant. For 2026, we have another original colorway returning to retailers: the White and Varsity Red iteration.
As most of you know, the Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 will have a big year in 2026. So far, we have the “All-Star” and “Black” iterations returning. Also, we have the Sue Bird and Penny Hardaway PEs launching in 2026. So far, the lineup has been original colorways and player exclusives, but we could see new color schemes arrive as well.
This classic Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 features a White, Varsity Red, and Black color scheme. Keeping a clean look, the shoes are built with White leather across the upper, while Red appears on the tongue, heel, outlines the Swoosh across the panels, and lands on most of the midsole and rubber outsole. Around the toe is Black textured detailing with the same treatment given to the heel. As for branding, Huarache is written on the tongues, and the Huarache logo is on the lateral side. Other details include Zoom Air with carbon fiber on the outsole.

Bottom Line
I was happy to hear that the Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 would return in 2026. Multiple colorways launched in the mid-2000s, with a few returning. While I do appreciate the White and Varsity Red iteration, it’s not one of my favorites. However, if I did come across them on sale, depending on the price, I would pick them up. Overall, I am looking forward to the All-Star and Penny Hardaway PE.
