However, even as they pad out their Rolodex, Maison Margiela MM6 has been arguably their most impactful partner, helping add runway validity to their earnest trail runners.

Though the “Salomon XT” utilizes the upper of the Salomon XT-6, already a frequent sight in these two brands’ shared history, its lugged traction that’s made it a choice for outdoorsy types is drastically redone. The chief point where you’ll see that is at the midpoint, where the segmented split is entirely absent, pushing the cushioning platform here closer to a rocker sole than something fit to take on rocky surfaces. Perhaps to let that shift shine on its own, Margiela utilizes rather staid colorway options, hitting the eternal “Black/Silver,” an “Off-White/Black,” and likely the most energetic of the trio, a “Black/Red.”
