Kobe 5 “Dodgers,” Nike Ja 4, And This Week’s Best Releases

“Returning champions” is the theme we’d ascribe to this week’s slate if prompted to sum up everything coming down the pike.

The Nike Kobe 5 “Dodgers” provides an obvious example, seeing Nike double back to one of 2025’s hottest hoops commodities by bringing it to the silhouette’s predecessor. But the same applies to the Nike Ja 4, of course a novel proposition but one where the high-flying guard and the brand seek to continue what could be the most celebrated line in their current signature roster.

It also goes for the Foamposite Pro “Camo,” the ALD x New Balance relationship, now bridging into performance running, and unexpectedly, for the artist formerly known as Kanye West. Though his independent Yeezy brand has been chugging along for some time, logistical challenges set back the purchases of some, and no doubt, the interest of many more. His newly-founded empire comes to wide audiences this week with a JD Sports partnership.

August 10th is one for the hoopers, as the Book 2 “Eggplant” echoes a classic Foamposite of old and the Sabrina 4 “Nike Nationals” tributes to the women’s game and the Swoosh’s premier girls’ tournament.

August 12th offers up the Nike Air Max 90 “Shadow Brown,” a rich tumbled leather take on the classic sportstyle silo. The New Balance 327 “Cow Print” marks a rare appearance for the model, prepping a trend-forward edition of the once inescapable wedge-soled sneaker.

August 13th is probably the day to circle if you’re a baller; the Nike Ja 4 “Nightmare” is the start of a new sig shoe for Morant as he aims to live up to the celebrated Ja 3. Additionally, the Yeezy JD Sports partnership becomes real, bringing the first major retail partnership and a wide launch of Ye’s independent brand for most audiences.

August 14th reaches back to 2013 for the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Camo,” the first-ever retro for the graphic-coated pair. SGA’s era with the Boston brand winds down with the Converse SHAI 001 Lace Up, the dawn of a new build and likely one of the final releases before a switch to Nike Basketball. Runners are the focus to close; the ALD New Balance Running capsule gets a wide release, and two SNKRS Preview pairs come off the board in the Vomero Premium Spikes Black/Pink and Vomero Plus “Cheat Day.”

August 15th no doubt has the most heat in store, beginning with the Nike Kobe 5 “Dodgers” in a tacit sequel to last year’s celebrated Protro. The Kobe Air Force 1 “Dodgers” offers a chance to bring that legacy into lifestyle. After an extended teaser cycle, the Free the Youth Jordan 16 touches down. The Nike Ja 4 “NY v. NY” offers a quick turnaround for the second Ja 4 colorway in its lifespan and of this week. Finally, the Jordan 3 “Sports Renaissance” drafts a mismatch ode to (literal) sportswear and the adidas DON Issue 8 “Lucid Tangerine” pays homage to Mitchell’s Panamanian roots.
