In the sneaker department, it’s been somewhat of a sleepy start to summer.
No doubt, there’s been some massive releases, but in the first few months of warmer weather, it feels as if we’ve been treated to some low quantity weeks more often than not. Could this finally be when summer (really Fall when it comes to the consumer calendar, but who’s counting) heats up?
Four true blockbuster days ahead of us indicate “yes.” Luckily for our wallets, the two headliners in the Jordan 3 “True Blue” and BAPE Vans Knu Skool aren’t dropping simultaneously, but there is some real heat pinned side-by-side, including but not limited to a new Reebok Board Flip, adidas collabs with Menace, Jah Jah, and Bad Bunny, a fresh experimental Vans capsule, and the snakeskin Shai’s. Oh, and did we mention there are several new models debuting? Hoops who have been anticipating the adidas Additive, D.O.N. Issue #8, Nike Sabrina 4, or New Balance 1954R finally see them hit shelves this week.
Take in absolutely everything coming your way in the next several days via the daily photo galleries below, with attached hyperlinks leading back to our coverage of each colorway/capsule/collab. Head there for more detailed analysis, release info, and “Where To Buy” widgets, which will include direct links once each launch occurs. We’ll keep this page updated with any late-breakers as the week progresses, but ensure nothing falls through the cracks by keeping an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates and Jordan Release Dates pages.
July 13th is dedicated to the gridiron alone. The Nike Air Diamond Turf 2 “49ers” Cleats brings another of Deion’s silos into performance with an OG colorway.
July 14th is a diverse one, beginning with a snakeskin look for the MVP in the Converse Shai 001 “Slither.” The BBC Ice Cream Reebok Board Flip “Pale Cerulean” follows, bringing another original look to the resurgent skater. The MENACE adidas Predator keeps World Cup celebrations at the fray, before another arm of the Three Stripes drops an ultra-limited, tech-forward model in the adidas Additive Shoes. Closing out in Beaverton, two soccer-inspired colorways of the Nike Total 90 Shox Magia arrive, as do the Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” Cleats, pre-empting the Retro in performance.
July 15th drops off a show-stopper, the BAPE Vans Knu Skool, ushering the Japanese giant onto a new (old) model. A bit later than its original and retail launch, the JJJJound New Balance 1890 comes to NB.com at long last. The latest from JAH JAH adidas sees the adiStar Control 5 and adiZero F50 Mega enter the canon, the Mario Crocs collection brings slip-ons to Mushroom Kingdom, and the New Balance 204V introduces a new offshoot to the Boston brand’s catalog.
July 16th keeps the skate company in the headlines, as the military-inspired Vans “Field Pack” touches down. A duo of retro editions from the Nike Zoom Skylon 11 closes out a calm day.
July 17th marks a Nike Basketball debut: the Sabrina 4 “Green Glow” starts a new chapter in what’s been one of the Swoosh’s recent big successes. The WNBA celebration is scheduled to touch the Black Mamba’s side of things with a Nike Dunk Low Protro (given an official reveal from Nike is pending, file this under “tentative.”) Another new face from NB in the New Balance 1954, going monochromatic for its first three colorways. The adidas DON Issue #8 “Spiderman” checks off another introduction before two Swoosh drops close out: the Nike Air Max 95 “Infrared” and Jordan Heir Series 2 “Napheesa Collier.”
July 18th has the Jumpman’s big headline of the week in the Air Jordan 3 “True Blue,” its first release since 2018. The Benito x adi relationship gets new life with the adidas Bad Bunny F50 Ghost Sprint (“Solar Slime,” “Dark Marine“) to close, along with a belated launch for the Nike Air Trainer SC “Atlanta.”
