Broadly speaking, Nike’s relationship with running specialty retailers is still in its early stages, but it’s not hard to envision a future where it mirrors what Nike SB built with skate shops: deeply involved partnerships with collaborations at the center. The running world at large seems to be heading that direction, and with Nike having doubled down on its return to the core athlete, the Swoosh figures to play a central role.

Here we have a collaboration with French running store Distance Athletics consisting of two models. The Nike Vomero Plus, arguably the standout model of Nike’s revamped road running category, handles daily training duties, while the Vaporfly 4 comes in for race day. The different purposes are mirrored by distinct colorways. Black and white zebra-esque patterning wraps the wavy lines of the Vomero Plus, amplified by Nike Running’s iconic Volt color on the Swoosh and outsole. The Distance logo appears within the core portion of the ZoomX midsole, complemented by overbranded laces and large “For All Runners” text on the insoles. For race day, the Vaporfly 4 sports a vivid orange upper with multiple bursts of black lines radiating out from the eyelets. The branding skews more minimal, though the same insole message carries over.

The Distance x Nike Running collection is expected to release soon in men’s sizing, likely dropping via the Distance website first before hitting Nike SNKRS shortly after. See official images of both styles below if you’re considering copping.
