There’s never a shortage of headlines when it comes to Air Max, so often at the forefront of both dominant retro street style and tech-forward innovation; look no further than the Air Max 95 and Air Liquid Max in those conversations. As that Yeat-endorsed silhouette demonstrates, the brand’s yearly March celebration often brings a new member of the family into the fold, but that’s not the only possible launchpad for fresh faces.
From the jump, the Nike Air Max Metro communicates a past-meets-present concept, split between the upper and the platform underneath. Up top, we cues from retro performance, currently reflected in the catalog with the Air Max Moto 2K or V2K Run, what with branching overlays and synthetic containment running perpendicular to one another. Below, the Nike Pegasus Premium is an obvious touchpoint. Though the contours are a bit less exaggerated, and the technology is doubtlessly more simplified, the curved, molded Air unit pioneered by the triple-stacked runner is nonetheless a clear influence.
The Nike Air Max Metro will be dropping on October 1st, 2026 in adult and GS sizing. The former clocks in at $130, while the latter at $110. Expect this “Black/Light Photo Blue” colorway to be among the initial options.
