In the summer of 2019, Virgil Abloh collaborated with Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art for an extensive exhibition. This exhibition showcased an array of unreleased Off-White x Nike/Jordan Brand sneakers, including the Off-White x Air Jordan 4 in the iconic “Bred” color scheme.

This particular Off-White x Jordan 4 draws inspiration from the original “Bred” (Black/Cement) sneaker, famously worn by Michael Jordan during the 1989 “The Shot” game against Craig Ehlo. Notable features include see-through layers and materials embellished with “AIR” lettering on the midsole.

Take a closer look below; it’s important to note that the Off-White x Air Jordan 4 “Bred” Sample was exclusively created for the MCA Chicago exhibition and has no current plans for a public release. If anything changes, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

Looking back, it becomes evident that Virgil Abloh’s desire was to share his creative vision with the world. He did so passionately, even while privately battling an illness that tragically claimed his life in late 2021. His legacy lives on through his remarkable contributions to the world of fashion and design.
