Update: It's been over eight months since we caught our first glimpse at Awake NY and Jordan Brand's collaborative Air Ship colorways. Now, with its release expected to take place this spring via Nike SNKRS, Awake NY and select retailers at a price of $150 USD, we have a closer look at the "University Red" look. Revealed at a raucous and revelrous opening party for Awake NY's new brick-and-mortar flagship in NYC's Lower East Side — where it was displayed in "if you know, you know" fashion, hanging from the ceiling without any fanfare — the sneaker marks a new chapter for Awake NY's footwear projects.Though the exact design inspiration of Awake NY's collaborative Air Ship has yet to be revealed, it features a boldly-mismatched color scheme: red snakeskin accents and red trim can be seen on its right foot, while the left foot provides blue snakeskin accents and trim. This yin-and-yang of colorful embellishment is balanced with silver Swooshes, white leather uppers, "aged" midsoles and outsoles and an outlined iteration of Awake NY's "A" logo stitched on the lateral forefoot.The Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship may be the first collaboration between Angelo Baque's brand and the Jumpman, but it's far from their first piece of collaborative footwear.
