Bodega and ASICS Reveal the GEL-NYC "After-Hours"

Bodega has teamed up with ASICS to pay homage to city life with a new sneaker model, the GEL-NYC "After-Hours". Inspired by the cities that shaped them, the shoe is designed to encapsulate the details of these landscapes while focusing on durability and versatility.The GEL-NYC, rapidly growing in popularity, is a hybrid design referencing foundational elements from Asics' retro and performance running styles, GEL-NIMBUS 3 and MC-PLUS V. The upper in this particular example features Nubuck and Suede primer for versatile textures that boast durability.Other design elements include a triangular spacer mesh motif inspired by city fences, keeping the wearer's foot secure and also providing breathability. The ASICS stripe on the medial side blends with the surroundings, while the lateral side features a translucent iconic logo, mimicking the interconnectedness of city infrastructure. A foam and GEL dynamic duo in the midsole, co-branded details and a diamond knit collar lining provide structural closure.Bodega shared that the color palette was inspired by various city infrastructural elements, with the Plum Truffle and Mole base coats made to resemble faded asphalt. Additionally, Drizzle colored mesh reinforces infrastructural gray, while Blazing Coral accents mimic the neon "OPEN" signs of diners and other shops. Patrician Purple and Caliste Green complete the color-blocking design of the shoe.The brand expressed "Behind every design is the environment that shaped it.
