The “Banned” colorway, also referred to as “Bred,” is an original blocking that was launched in 1985. Since then, we have seen various cuts and variations of the shoes debut. Furthermore, Jordan Brand has adopted the “Banned” nickname, although the Air Jordan 1 wasn’t banned in the NBA. Nonetheless, we have a special launch for Summer 2026, the “Banned” Air Jordan 1 Low OG will debut, a follow-up to the 2011 release.

Instead of launching in the “Bred” blocking, JB will add something extra to the pair. Some may remember that in 2011, JB created the “Banned” Air Jordan 1 High. The shoes featured an X on the heel and special insoles. However, the pair didn’t release at retailers and went straight to outlets. This was due to an error on the insoles. Jordan Brand had placed 1985 as the date of when the Air Jordan 1 was banned (it was the Nike Air Ship), instead of 1984.

This Air Jordan 1 Low is dressed in a Black, Varisty Red, and Summit White color combination. The overall blocking will match the classic “Bred” color placement. Red will land on the toe box, Swoosh logo, around the heel, laces, and the rubber outsole. The majority of this pair is dipped in Black, including the panels, tongue, overlays, and liner. White then graces the midsole. Now, connecting to the “Banned” pair. The shoes will feature an “X” on the heel, joined by the signature Wings logo. The same X will be placed on the insoles, which differs from the 2011 pair.
